REDISPERSIBLE
POLYMER
Redispersible Polymer Powder (RDP)
A highly engineered, spray-dried VAE copolymer emulsion powder. Designed to impart outstanding flexibility, impact resistance, and superior adhesion to all dry mix mortars, cementitious products, and gypsum formulations.
RDP Polymer Overview
Redispersible Polymer Powder (RDP), commonly based on Vinyl Acetate-Ethylene (VAE) copolymers, is the backbone of high-performance construction chemicals. Upon contact with water, the powder rapidly redispenses into an emulsion, reforming the original polymer film within the curing mortar.
This polymer film acts as a flexible, highly adhesive bridge across the microscopic pores and cracks in cement. The result is a dramatic increase in tensile adhesion strength, especially on difficult or non-porous substrates like existing tiles, EPS/XPS insulation boards, and smooth concrete.
RDP is the essential active ingredient for achieving C2-grade tile adhesives, flexible waterproofing slurries, and crack-resistant EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems), ensuring buildings remain structurally sound under thermal and mechanical stress.
- ✔ Dramatically increases tensile and shear bond strength
- ✔ Imparts vital flexibility to prevent mortar cracking
- ✔ Enhances hydrophobicity and reduces water absorption
- ✔ Improves impact and abrasion resistance
- ✔ Allows for excellent adhesion on EPS/XPS panels (EIFS)
- ✔ Optimizes rheology and trowelability of the wet mix

Core Industrial Applications
🧱 C1 & C2 Tile Adhesives
Mandatory for high-performance adhesives, providing the flexibility required for large-format tiles and underfloor heating systems.
🏢 EIFS / ETICS Systems
Delivers the essential adhesion needed to bond base coats to polystyrene insulation boards and prevents cracking in the finish coat.
🌊 Waterproofing Mortars
Forms a dense, flexible polymer matrix that bridges shrinkage cracks and blocks water ingress in basements and pools.
📏 Self-Leveling Underlayments
Enhances surface abrasion resistance, flexural strength, and promotes excellent flow and self-healing properties.
