Product Description

Copper Slag Overview

Copper slag is a tough, synthetic by-product generated during the smelting and refining of copper ore. Upon being rapidly cooled (quenched) in water, it fractures into hard, glassy, angular granules composed primarily of Iron Silicate.

Due to its exceptionally high specific gravity and sharp, angular structure, it possesses incredible kinetic energy upon impact. This makes it a vastly superior and faster-cutting alternative to traditional sandblasting. Crucially, it contains virtually zero free crystalline silica, entirely eliminating the risk of silicosis for operators.

In addition to surface preparation, its density, chemical stability, and low water absorption make it a highly desirable fine aggregate for heavy-weight concrete, roofing granules, and specialized civil engineering applications.
